TFRI announces new leadership appointment for Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network
Dr. Isabel Serrano has been appointed to position of managing director of the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network.
Vancouver BC - The Terry Fox Research Institute is pleased to announce that Dr. Isabel Serrano has been appointed to position of managing director of the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network effective Jan. 15.
In this new role, Dr. Serrano will continue to play an important role in the Network’s daily operations and research initiatives as well as in its continued growth, including sustainability initiatives.
“I am extremely pleased to announce Isabel's promotion to the new position of Managing Director of MOHCCN. I have had the chance to work with Isabel for nearly two years,” remarked Dr. André Veillette, Network executive director. “She is not only an exceptional manager and leader, but also a fantastic person who is smart, honest, kind and reliable. MOHCCN and TFRI are lucky to have her in our organization.”
The role ensures the implementation of required programs and activities in line with the Network’s and organization’s objectives, among other responsibilities including effective team management, collaboration and performance, as well as relationship building with key stakeholders including researchers and administrators. She will continue to work closely with Dr. Veillette to execute the strategic vision for the Network, while also aligning with TFRI’s goals, mission, vision and values.
