Patient Working Group meet in person and virtually for the group's first-ever learning exchange event
Members of the MOHCCN Patient Working Group met in person and virtually on Nov. 15 for the group's first-ever working and learning exchange event. In total, 25 member attended, with 19 members travelling to Halifax, NS for the meeting and 6 joining virtually.
Throughout the day, members held presentations from Network clinicians and researchers, shared stories and experiences, and held conversations with Network leadership and staff. This allowed the group to set key priorities for the further integration of patients, caregivers and survivors in Network activities, with the goal of finding better ways to accelerate precision medicine for cancer.
"We would like to thank all the working group members who contributed to making this event a huge success," said Dr. André Veillette, executive director of the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network.
Media coverage
Local and national media provided coverage of the event, notably Global News in Nova Scotia, and Canadian Press, which resulted in national coverage.
